After my shoppo experience this week, and because certain other people, like Gina and Tif, get me thinking about consumerism, exploitation, and sustainability, I am going to have a go at making my own clothes.
I bought this book a while ago now (you can check it out over at my side bar), and got a bit lost in all the measurements and wanting to start with making the complicated stuff first...
So today I am looking at the "basic A line skirt" (the simplest pattern thank you) and thinking about making one out of the linen in the background.
Now you observant types will immediately recognise this fabric from my lounge room drum shades. Do I really want to look like my light shades? Is this a little Sound of Music lets make the kids clothes from the curtains kind of thing?
Any ways, you got to agree this is one cute skirt. I am thinking I might go grey linen pockets, with a bit of free motion embroidery. What do you think?
More spaces over at Kootoyoo, I love hanging out with such wonderful, creative women every Thursday. Go have a look and get inspired!
