Rags to Riches

Pretty impressive for fabric destined for the rag bin!  I am glad I showed you my Heidi braids as it meant I had to actually get it finished.  Now just waiting to finish off my other vintage sheet project...

This girl is not heirloom quality - if you want that, I think you gotta go the neatly pressed rags and hand stitching route.  There are good instructions of how to do this in Handmade Home (link in my bookshelf).

My "Heidi" rug has a bit of a shabby hand made look, which of course I love.  I am now thinking of doing a bigger one, using calico and red based floral sheeting, to use as a kitchen floor rug.

Tomorrow is home alone Tuesday, and I will indeed be at home as I have injured a tendon in my leg, so hoping for a bit of creative time.  Wishing you a great week...

  1. That is just lovely. COngratulations! I looked at the instructions and thought that it was a lot of work - but if you've finished it and are considering another, you're obviously a convert! Looking forward to more lovely crafting...
