After weeks of apron making, crochet and cooking
I have finally gotten back to sewing something just for me.
A messenger bag made from grey wool, thrifted from an old, but dearly loved friend
My grey coat,
she has traveled through England, France and Italy with me many years ago and saw me through some Sydney winters.
Alas, she was old and tired and wearing out in patches,
so she has been recommissioned, to travel with me to who knows where,
(oh please let us go back to Paris together).
(oh please let us go back to Paris together).
WOW! That's brilliant & I love that it was made from your dear old coat, so special!
ReplyDeleteI hope you two get a chance to go back to Paris too!
ReplyDeleteIt's perfect...And yay for finding time to make yourself something.
ReplyDeleteHow fantastic that your much loved friend gets to travel with you more. Fingers x you get that trip to Paris.
ReplyDeleteThis is my very favourite kind of craft. Cos everytime you look at your bag you'll be thinking world travelling companion, while everyone else sees extremely cosy FUNKY bag.
ReplyDeleteLove it! I was going to say, it would go beautifully with my new double breasted, grey, woolen jacket that I got tailor made in Bali!
ReplyDeletelooks great - just destined to travel to paris, i say!

That's a great looking bag you've made and I love that the fabrics got a history.
ReplyDeleteA lovely way to prolong the enjoyment of an old friend - and it would be lovely to use too! Nic
ReplyDeleteAnother fantastic idea! I have a coat that kept me warm through my travels in 1993 and altho the lining is torn and it's not something I'll probably ever wear again I've still got it hanging in the coat cupboard. You've inspired me to do a similar thing - I only hope I can end up with a great bag like you have! Thanks!
ReplyDeletewow! what a great idea, and its so gorgeous!
